The green routes

In order to encourage non-polluting travel and to reduce the use of the car in town, the Mayor of Bourges decided to create, in 2005, a network of green routes, which allow safe travel from one place to another, without using the car.

These green routes are well-defined paths, about 3,50 metres in width, with a stabilized reinforced coating. They are accessible to walkers, cyclists, and roller skaters...

Launched in 2003, this project counts today :

• 5,4 kilometers around the Val d'Auron lake
• 1,4 kilometers between the lake and the center town ("Trouée verte")
• 3,2 kilometers between the Châteauroux road and the Prado
