Sports' facilities

Bourges boasts a particularly wide range of sports' facilities which not only allow everyone to practise the sport of their choice but also the organisation of national and international sports' events.
The Prado Sports' Centre, with the largest sports' hall in town, often resounds to the exploits of its women's basketball team, three times European champions. Recent developments have increased spectator capacity to 3000.

The Jacques Rimbault Sports' Complex, opened in 1991, is devoted mainly to football, with stands offering a capacity of 7 500. But it also includes a Fencing Hall, with 17 pistes, and a Billiards Hall, both approved for international contests.

In addition to its 14 sports' halls, 20 stadiums or sports' complexes, 3 swimming pools and an ice skating rink inaugurated in 2004, Bourges is lucky in having, just a short distance from the town centre, an 84-hectare artificial lake with sailing and rowing clubs. In the vicinity there is also a golf course, tennis courts and a horse-riding centre.

Other facilities, either public or private, offer skateboarding, bowling and squash.
